#1 Go-to Breakfast: Chocolate Collagen Chia Seed Pudding
Ā Alright guys I’ve mentioned this breakfast before many times on my Instagram, but it deserves talking about again. THIS BREAKFAST. I mean, itās basically perfect (and i don’t say this lightly).
This chia seed pudding is my go-to to daily breakfast – it’s easy, it requires minimal prep, it tastes amazing, AND keeps me full until 1pm or later everyday. I still love a green smoothie, but Iāve found actually eating (vs drinking) my breakfast makes me feel way fuller for longer. Especially in the colder months (which in SF is basically year round -___-) this is the perfect warm breakfast option, but is also great cold if you live somewhere that actually has a summer.
Here’s why you need to make it ASAP:
HIGH FIBER
With 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and 1 tablespoon of ground flax seeds, this baby has over 13 grams of fiber (half your RDA for women!). Fiber is so important for keeping you full and feeding healthy guy bacteria
HIGH PROTEIN
Made with 20g of collagen protein, this will keep you full all morning (protein is the most satiating macro nutrient). Plus most of us don’t get enough collagen in our diets, which is key for gut, skin & joint health. Primal Kitchen ,Ā Perfect Keto , and Ancient Nutrition are my favs for chocolate collagen. HEALTHY FAT
I always add a tbsp of my favorite nut or seed butters (sunflower seed butter is my fav – easier to digest than nuts for me and very low net-carb). Fat (along with fiber) helps slow down your digestion and stabilize your blood sugar
SUPER DELICIOUS
I mean guys – you’re eating chocolate for breakfast – with no sugar…is there anything better? Plus starting the day with something warm is great for digestion (and happiness levels)
HOW TO MAKE IT: Extra-Chocolatey Collagen Protein Chia Seed Pudding
Overnight soak 2 tbsp chia seeds & 1 tbsp ground flax (optional) in 1/2 cup water in a mason jar (to make it easy to take on the go)
In the morning add the following:ā
- 1 scoop chocolate collagen protein (I love Primal Kitchen, Perfecto Keto*, and Ancient Nutrition** for chocolate collagen, or Health Warrior for a vegan chocolate protein)
- 1 scoop unflavored collagen proteinā
- 1 tbsp nut butter (sunflower-seed butter, almond butter, etc.)ā
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 dropper liquid stevia
- Couple drops vanilla steviaā
- Couple shakes pink salt ā
- Couple shakes cinnamon
